Following on from World Recycling Day on the 18th March 2022, we have made several changes within the business to focus our efforts on recycling. Having studied our waste output, especially from the offices, over 90% of the materials put in the general waste was actually paper and recyclable materials.

As a result, we have added several green recycling bins throughout the building and in offices removed individual general waste bins to create central waste areas.

The impact has been immediate!

We used to have 2 x 1100 litre general waste bins as pictured above, since we installed a 1100 litre green bin, we have been able to remove one of the general waste bins.

This has saved money, made it easier for our domestic cleaning team as it has reduced the number of bins to empty daily and most importantly, we have reduced our landfill waste and increased our recycling capabilities.

This was all made possible by assistance from Kirklees Council and the Trade Waste Team. If you want to do the same and are in the area contact them on 01484 221000 or email them on trade.waste@kirklees.gov.uk
